  • Nexus One – Getting it to work in Ireland on Meteor

Posted on July 20th, 2010 david 2 comments

Getting the Nexus One to work on this network was pretty easy. Once you have the Sim Card installed and the phone back on, select Meteor in the “Network operators” in the “Mobile network settings” menu.

When you are registered with Meteor, go back to the “Mobile network settings” menu, select “Access Point Names”. When you press the menu button here you should have two options:

    1. New APN
    2. Reset to default

Select the second option and the phone should be able to pull down the settings from the network itself without the need for you to manually set them. So simple…:)

You should have two APNs in the end “Meteor Data” and “Meteor MMS”.

If this does not work for you, here are the details so that you can enter them manually:

    Meteor Data

    Name: Meteor Data

    APN: data.mymeteor.ie

    MCC: 272

    MNC: 03

    APN type: default,supl

Everything else can be left at defaults

    Meteor MMS

    Name: Meteor MMS

    APN: mms.mymeteor.ie

    Proxy: 010.085.085.085

    Port: 8799

    Username: my

    Password: mms

    MMSC: http://mms.mymeteor.ie

    MMS proxy: 010.085.085.085

    MMS port: 8799

    MCC: 272

    MNC: 03

    APN type: mms

Again everything else can be left at defaults.

    1. Nice Blog David,

And I thought my days of leeching off your technical knowledge were long gone!

    2. Hey man,

      Cheers for that…

I put this up a couple of years ago to save anyone out in the tubes, some time and effort with computer related problems.

Glad I could be of help…
